Location
From Barajas airport: follow the signs for the A1 Burgos (northbound) for around 50 minutes.
At the exit marked Lozoya (M604) turn off and follow the road past the village of Rascafria.
On leaving Rascafria, look out for the monastery and the Hotel Santa Maria de El Paular on your right, then Las Presillas ('small dams') on your left - El Caracol is very close on the left, with white gates, a clear sign and an uphill private drive skirted by pine trees.
