Shops in Rascafria

Supermarkets

To get your supplies in for your stay, you have two options:

1. Carrefour Hypermarket, an enormous supermarket where you will find anything you need. If you come from Madrid or Barajas Airport, it's on the way - junction 14 of the A1 motorway.

2. Udaco Supermarket in Rascafria village - just off the main square, opposite the town hall. Not as much choice as Carrefour, but it has everything you need. There are also various breadshops (that always have delicious freshly baked bread every morning - get there before 12!), and a couple of butchers/delicatessen shops dotted around Rascafria. All are superb.

There are also various shops selling gifts, books and products made by local artesans... some of our favourites are below:

Casa Rustica de Cris

This little gift shop just off the main square is great for picking up books about the local area, maps, and general gifts and home-wares.

El Taller de las Vidrieras

MD Sonia Perez de Don Pedro continues the ancient craft of working with metal, wood, stone and glass to make all manner of impressive decorative works.

Ana's Oven

You'll have to arrive here early to get hold of Ana Garcia Conejo's delicious traditional cakes. She bakes traditional magdalenes, apple, orange and chocolate cakes, carrot and nut bread, and many, many more delights.

Taller Zalos

Lamps, mirrors, writing tables, candelabra, all made with the smith Chema Guevara's tools of the trade, transforming tin, copper and bronze together with wood, ceramics and glass.

Artesanía en Cuero

With great attention to detail, Gonzalo Ramirez creates rucksacks, belts, necklaces or anything else you wish.
