Swimming

Las Presillas lies off the edge of El Caracol’s grounds - it is a natural bathing area where you can cool down in the river. The water is clear, pure, and totally invigorating - and it is the perfect tonic on a hot Summer's day.

A series of small dams create natural swimming pools and there is a grass meadow for sunbathing - there is also a simple bar (run by the Rascafria local council) where you can get an ice cold beer and bocadillo (Spanish bread sandwich).

The views from this spot are breathtaking - wherever you look is picture-postcard perfect.

For a little variation, a stunning setting for a spot ofswimming is the Sheraton hotel down the road - where you can buy a day pass and relax in the gorgeous gardens. There is also a very good open air swimming pool in the village.
